Development of Tan Son Nhat Airport:
After the reunification of Vietnam on April 30, 1975, the Vietnamese government took over the airport from the former administration.
From May 1-15, 1975, domestic flights between Saigon and Hanoi, as well as other southern destinations, resumed with 5-6 flights per day.
In 1986, following the 6th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the airport received significant investments in equipment and infrastructure, making it the largest airport in Vietnam.
On September 7, 2015, Decision No. 3193/QD-BGTVT was issued to adjust the master plan of Tan Son Nhat, including passenger and cargo terminal expansion projects.
