7:30 - 8:00 AM: The program starts on a lakeside trail, crossing streams to reach Coc Toc village, a Tay ethnic community living by fishing on Ba Be Lake.
Ba Be Lake: One of the 20 largest natural freshwater lakes in the world in need of protection. Ba Be Lake spans about 500 hectares, formed within a limestone valley system and surrounded by pristine forests.
Ba Be National Park: A Ramsar wetland on limestone mountains, an Asian biosphere reserve, and a special national tourist site. The park covers an area of 100,000 hectares, home to over 1,200 plant species and about 80 rare animal species listed for conservation.
From Coc Toc village, you will cross rice fields, follow streams, and trek through tropical rainforest, an ecosystem of primary forest on limestone mountains.
10:00 AM: Arrive at Khau Qua and Nam Dai, villages of the H’Mong ethnic group, who live on mountaintops, cultivating corn, rice, and livestock on terraced fields.
12:00 PM: Stop for lunch with the H’Mong people, known for their friendliness and hospitality (Meals will be prepared using seasonal ingredients).
2:00 PM: In the afternoon, descend through valleys and bamboo forests along a trail leading back to Ba Be Lake.
5:00 PM: The journey ends at Ba Be Lake’s shore, after which you will have free time to explore the surrounding area or immerse yourself in the lake’s cool waters after a day of trekking.
