- ABOUT THIS SERVICE -

Embark on a challenging 2-day, 1-night expedition deep into the pristine rainforest of Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park to discover the spectacular Over Cave and Pygmy Cave. Covering approximately 20 km of trekking, this adventure takes you along remote jungle trails, steep slopes, and rugged terrain while introducing you to the fascinating cave systems and the traditional culture of the local Arem ethnic community. Explore the impressive 3.2 km Over Cave, marvel at its extraordinary stalactites, stalagmites, and vast calcium pools, then continue to the entrance of Pygmy Cave through the dramatic Dinosaur Spine. Experience an exhilarating 10-meter abseil into the cave before spending the night camping at its entrance. On the second day, challenge yourself with another jungle trek through steep forest slopes before returning to Phong Nha.

 

- DETAILED ITINERARY -

DAY 1: PHONG NHA - OVER CAVE - PYGMY CAVE 

07:30 AM - 8:00 AM: The guide will pick you up from your accommodation and welcome you to join the group at Jungle Boss, reviews the itinerary, and provides safety recommendations.

09:00 AM: Depart by car to km 24, the starting point for hiking through the forest. The journey to explore Pygmy Cave and Over Cave is quite challenging. However, the fascinating stories shared by your guide about the cave system, as well as the cultural customs and lives of the local ethnic minority people in this area, will captivate you and energize you to complete the trek.

10:00 AM: Begin the journey to explore the Phong Nha – Ke Bang rainforest. The group will hike through small trails in the forest, with the guide explaining the life and culture of the Arem people.

12:00 PM: Arrive at the top of Gio Slope for a rest and lunch. Upon reaching Gio Slope, you can enjoy the refreshing, continuous gusts of wind, offering a welcome sense of relief after a challenging trek through the forest.

12:30 PM: Continue down Gio Slope, passing small slopes to Luon Slope. This slope is short but quite slippery and steep, please be careful.

2:00 PM: Rest at Luon slope before heading to Over Cave.

2:30 PM: Arrive at the entrance of Over Cave, prepare safety equipment, and explore the 3.2 km cave. You will continue trekking through the jungle to Over Cave, where you will marvel at the uniquely shaped stalactites and stalagmites and take photos at the gigantic Massive Attack archway. The path inside Over Cave traverses many vast fields of calcium pools, so please follow the team leader's instructions carefully to avoid affecting the development of the stalactite systems and calcium pools.

4:00 PM: Continue exiting Over Cave and arrive at the sinkhole at the back of Pygmy Cave, where there is a pristine forest. Following the safety rope along the cliff face, you will reach the "Dinosaur Spine." Jungle Boss safety assistants will support you with your safety equipment and each member of the group will take turns experiencing a thrilling 10-meter abseil down into the cave. After about a 15-minute walk, you will arrive at the campsite located at the main entrance of Pygmy Cave.

5:00 PM: Arrive at the entrance of Pygmy Cave, set up camp for the night while the porter team prepares the tents and dinner.

6:30 PM - 9:30 PM: Dinner and rest for the night

DAY 2: PYGMY CAVE - ROAD 20 QUYET THANG - PHONG NHA  

08:00 AM: Breakfast at the campsite and pack up for departure.

09:00 AM: Take commemorative photos at Pygmy Cave with the group.

09:30 AM: Bid farewell to Pygmy Cave and begin the journey to conquer the green forest. The hiking journey will be challenging with many steep slopes.

10:30 AM: Arrive at Co slope, a high slope that consumes much energy. If it rains, you may encounter shallow streams and beautiful waterfalls.

12:00 PM: Stop for lunch.

2:00 PM: Arrive at 20 Quyet Thang Road, enjoy cold drinks, and return to Jungle Boss headquarters.

3:00 PM: Arrive at Jungle Boss, take a shower, and conclude the journey.
