The journey to explore the Tiger Cave system in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is a unique and rare experience. These three caves are hidden deep in the untouched forest, completely isolated from the outside world. To reach them, you must conquer a challenging trekking route deep into the jungle, which is no easy feat for adventure enthusiasts. The trip will take you through many magnificent caves like Son Doong and Pygmy Cave, including 1.6 km of Tiger Cave and 3.2 km of Over Cave. Pygmy Cave, the fourth largest cave in the world, features a tropical forest inside, while Kong Collapse is known as one of the deepest sinkholes on the planet. These are all masterpieces of nature, offering unforgettable majestic landscapes.
Day 1: Phong Nha - Road 20 Quyet Thang - Tiger Cave - Kong Sinkhole
08:00: The guide picks you up and heads to Jungle Boss Headquarters for a briefing on the itinerary and safety guidelines, as well as environmental protection instructions.
09:00: Departure by car along Road 20 Quyet Thang to km 24 – the starting point of the jungle trek.
10:00: Begin the trek through the primary forest of Phong Nha - Ke Bang. The trail is tough, with varying slopes. You will walk through narrow forest paths while the guide shares information about the local life and culture of the Arem people who once lived in this area, along with survival skills of the indigenous people.
12:00: Reach the summit of Gio slope, where you’ll enjoy refreshing winds after the strenuous trek. Lunch is served here.
12:30: Continue trekking down Gio slope, passing some small slopes before reaching Luon slope, which is short but slippery and steep.
15:00: After crossing various terrains, arrive at the lower entrance of Tiger Cave, also known as Dai A Cave. Get ready to swim through the cave to reach Kong Sinkhole.
15:30: Start the adventure with a 300-meter swim through the lower section of Tiger Cave.
16:00: Arrive at Kong Sinkhole, the campsite for the first night.
17:30: Dinner and an overnight experience at one of the deepest sinkholes on the planet.
21:30: Curfew.
Day 2: Kong Sinkhole - Tiger Cave - Over Cave - Pygmy Cave
07:30: Breakfast at Kong Sinkhole.
08:00: Rappelling and photography at Luoi Coc rock edge.
09:00: Begin exploring Tiger Cave, Over Cave, and Pygmy Cave.
9:00 - 11:00: explore the upper section of Hang Ho. This part of the adventure includes swimming through sections of the underground river within the cave.
11:30: You'll reach the exit of Hang Ho and explore the next sinkhole between Hang Ho and Hang Over. Passing through the forest inside the sinkhole, you will arrive at the entrance of Hang Over.
12:00: Lunch at the entrance of Over Cave.
12:30: you'll prepare safety gear to explore this 3.2 km long cave. This journey takes you deep into the earth. After just a few minutes of walking, you’ll be surrounded by complete darkness. Headlamps will be your guide through the vast cave. As you move through giant stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes, you'll arrive at a grand chamber known as "Massive Attack." This area is stunning, with different formations inside a space that is 125 meters wide and over 80 meters tall. It's a perfect spot to capture breathtaking photos of the adventure.
15:00: Continue the journey to the rear entrance of Pygmy Cave, crossing the tropical forest within the sinkhole between Over and Pygmy caves.
15:20: After passing through the forest in the sinkhole, you will begin your exploration of Pygmy Cave. Using safety ropes, you'll traverse along the rock wall from the back entrance of the cave to the "Dinosaur Spine" located in the middle. From there, you'll rappel about 10 meters down into the cave's depths and continue walking towards the main entrance of Pygmy Cave, which will be your campsite for the night.
16:00: Reach Pygmy Cave, where the group will camp for the night.
18:30-21:30: Dinner, sharing stories, and bonding time.
Day 3: Farewell to the Tiger Cave system and return to the outside world.
08:00: Breakfast and pack up at the campsite.
09:00: Take group photos to commemorate the journey.
09:30: Begin the return trek through limestone mountains and valleys.
12:00: Lunch along the way.
14:00: Arrive at Road 20 Quyet Thang, enjoy a cold drink, and head back to Jungle Boss Headquarters.
15:00: Return to Jungle Boss. Freshen up and conclude the journey.
