Japanese Onsen Bathing Process
To maximize the health benefits of hot spring bathing and ensure a safe experience, guests are encouraged to follow the traditional Japanese Onsen bathing process below.
Step 1: Cleanse Your Body
Before entering the Onsen pools, guests should thoroughly wash and rinse their bodies using soap and water. This is an important hygiene practice and helps the body gradually adapt to the hot water temperature.
Step 2: Soak in the Hot Mineral Bath
Gently immerse yourself in the mineral-rich hot spring pools with water temperatures around 38 – 40°C. Each soaking session should last approximately 10 – 15 minutes to help the body absorb minerals effectively while avoiding overheating.
Step 3: Enjoy Sauna or Steam Bath
Guests may continue with dry sauna, steam sauna, or Himalayan salt room experiences. Recommended duration is around 10 – 15 minutes to support detoxification, improve circulation, and relax muscles.
Step 4: Cool Down & Rest
After sauna sessions, guests are encouraged to use cold pools or rest areas to balance body temperature and stimulate blood circulation, creating a refreshing and revitalizing feeling.
Step 5: Repeat the Wellness Cycle
The cycle of hot soaking – sauna – cooling down can be repeated 2 – 3 times for optimal relaxation and recovery benefits.
