Step into the peaceful countryside of Ninh Bình and experience the warmth of Vietnamese village life through an authentic home cooking class. Guided by a local host family, you'll harvest fresh herbs from the garden, discover the essential flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, and prepare a selection of traditional dishes using time-honored techniques. More than just a cooking lesson, this intimate experience invites you to share a homemade meal, exchange stories with local residents, and gain a genuine insight into the culture, hospitality, and everyday life of rural Vietnam. 

This experience is designed to be flexible and naturally adapts to the rhythm of village life.

– ITINERARY –

EXPERIENCE FLOW:

1. Welcome & Introduction: 

Guests meet the guide at the village gate or near the host family and take a short walk to the communal house or host home. 

Experience: 

•  Warm welcome and brief orientation.
•  Introduction to Dam Khe Trong village and its community.
•  Overview of the experience (walk → ingredients → cooking → meal).

 

2. Ingredient Discovery (Garden Experience) 

Guests are introduced to the ingredients before cooking begins. 

Experience: 

• Pick fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden.
• Collect eggs from the backyard (if available).
• Learn about key Vietnamese ingredients and flavors.

Note: 

Ingredients are partially prepared in advance from local markets to ensure quality, while the garden experience provides a direct 
connection to the food.

 

3. Hands-On Cooking Class (Core Experience):

Guests begin the main cooking session with the host family. 

Experience: 

•  Step-by-step preparation of multiple Vietnamese dishes.
•  Learn techniques such as cutting, seasoning, frying, and plating.
•  Active participation from all guests.

Guide / host focus: 

•  Explain flavor balance (sweet, sour, salty, umami).
•  Encourage guests to cook, not just observe.
•  Keep the session interactive and fun.

 

4. Shared Meal & Cultural Exchange:

Guests begin the main cooking session with the host family. 

Experience:
