9:00 AM: Welcome & Communal House visit

Meet & orientation.

Introduction to the day and village etiquette.

Split into small groups to explore the communal house.

Village Communal House and Village Walk:

• After meeting at the entrance of Đam Khê Trong Village. Travelers receive a short introduction to the day’s itinerary before walking to the village communal house.
• This shared space is an important part of village life, traditionally used for meetings, ceremonies, and community gatherings. Guests are given time to look around and learn how the communal house continues to serve as a common space for local residents today. From the communal house, walking along quiet lanes that connect homes, gardens, and everyday working spaces.
• Along the way, the guide highlights elements of daily rural life such as family courtyards, vegetable plots, ancestral altars, and small shrines.
• This walk offers insight into the village as a living community, setting the scene for the upcoming visit to local households where traditional rice wine is produced.

 

Local Rice Wine Experience: 

• Then guests head to a local household where rice wine is traditionally made for daily use.
• Guests have the opportunity to taste the fermented rice used in the process, learn about the steps involved in making rice wine, and sip freshly distilled wine prepared on-site.

 

Lunch at local home: 

• Following the village walk and visits to local rice wine households, come to a local family’s home, where they are warmly welcomed.
• Guests are shown around the house and garden, where many of the ingredients used in daily cooking are grown, before coming together to enjoy a shared village-style lunch in a relaxed, communal setting.
