Visit Border Marker 1297 and admire the expansive reed-covered hills, then continue to the famous “Dinosaur’s Back” ridge and Border Marker 1305 for panoramic mountain views. The journey also gives you time to explore Binh Lieu town, enjoy local specialties, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this remote border region.

 

– ITINERARY –

DAY 1: HANOI - BINH LIEU - MILESTONE 1297 & 1300 (L,D)

05:30 AM: Car and guide pick up at the designated Hanoi meeting point and depart for Binh Lieu (rest stop breakfast at own expense).

Noon: Arrive in Binh Lieu, rest and enjoy a delicious lunch featuring typical local seafood dishes before checking into the hotel. 

Afternoon: 

• Milestone 1297: Trek and check in at northern Vietnam's famous reed grass paradise.
• Milestone 1300: Conquer the border milestone surrounded by the striking scenery of Matcha Hills.

 

Evening: 

• Return to hotel to shower and relax. Enjoy a specialty dinner featuring local chicken, stream fish, five-color sticky rice, and seaweed vermicelli.
• Free evening to explore the town or experience local coffee and karaoke services.

 

DAY 2: DINOSAUR SPINE - MILESTONE 1305 - HANOI (B, L)

Morning:

• Enjoy hotel breakfast and set off along the Binh Lieu border patrol road to conquer the famous Dinosaur's Spine. 
• Trek the ~1.8km route with over 2,000 steps (~2-3 hours trek) to touch Milestone 1305 - one of the highest border markers in Quang Ninh, offering sweeping views of the Vietnam-China border.

 

Noon: Enjoy a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant and rest after the morning trek.

Evening: Board the vehicle for the return journey to Hanoi. Arrive back in Hanoi in the evening. End of program!
